Isola weather masterly described by Evan Hunter/Ed McBain.

Either by color (as Lombino he had won a schoolarship with the prestigious Art Students League in 1942): “The sky, magnificently blue all day long, virtually cloudles, was succumbing to the pale violet of dusk” (JIGSAW chapter eight) or by a human touch: “Like a woman in her tenth month, the clouds over the city twisted and roiled in angry discomfort but refused to deliver the promised snow” (SADIE WHEN SHE DIED chapter seven).
